Vicki Hall has worked in Bar Harbor restaurants for many years and took the plunge into restaurant ownership in 2006. The Island Chowder House, as it had been known for 22 years, was reinvented as the Portside Grill.

A hands-on type of gal, Vicki spent the winter painting and banging nails, and running a test kitchen at home. Friends and family pitched in, supplied advice and encouragment, and critiqued her recipes. The results? A warm and glowing interior where you will feel right at home. A menu designed to celebrate the subtle and sweet flavors of Maine’s renowned seafood.
